Rice gets cooking against the Dirtbags

Among the six relievers who followed, Andre Lamontagne allowed two runs in two innings, David Roberts was charged with three runs in an inning, and Dustin Rasco gave up a hit and a walk and hit three batters without recording an out. Kyle Morgan went 2 for 2 with a homer and a walk for the Dirtbags. Matt Cline also had two hits, and Robert Perry had the other RBI on a sacrifice fly. Rice blew open a close game in the late innings to beat the Dirtbags, 11-2, in a nonconference clash Saturday in Houston. Aaron Luna hit a solo home run and a three-run triple to lead the sixth-ranked Owls (4-4), who led 3-2 after 4 1/2 innings before adding one run in the sixth, three in the seventh and four in the eighth. In their first seven games this season, the Dirtbags won five, and lost two by one run.
