F-M, J-D, CBA golfers continue win streaks

Punn Chittaratalert contributed a 37, while Essex Glowaki, Trey Jacobson and Tyler Brang each finished with 43.Then came a close call last Wednesday afternoon, J-D going to Willowbrook to face Cortland and nearly getting caught, but doing just enough to edge the Cortland Purple Tigers 208-209.Breezy conditions prevailed, with Chitteratlert’s 38 one ahead of Cortland’s David Benjamin and Nick Djafari. Tanner Burns shot a 40, with Glowaki and Hatton each shooting 42 and Julian Galetta, with a 46, beating the Purple Tigers’ fifth score by two strokes, which created the thin winning margin.Christian Brothers Academy headed into the Labor Day weekend following a 193-236 win over Tully, with Mike Santaro shooting a 36 and Jack MacLachlan adding a 38. Dan Angelo posted 39 ahead of the 40s from Joe Nicholson and Pete Scuderi.A week later, CBA returned and handled LaFayette 201-241 at Orchard Valley. MacLachlan’s 38 was one shot better than the 39 from Scuderi, with Nicholson getting a 40 and Angelo adding a 41 as Ryan Wendt (43) and James Stanton (49) followed.Back on Aug. 29, East Syracuse Minoa met Syracuse at Drumlins. ESM Blue shot 205 to Syracuse’s 251, with ESM Orange finishing with a team total of 265.Dan Sitnik’s 39 led a consistent effort for ESM Blue. David Griffith posted a 40, while Joe Pacheco and Zach Johnson both finished with 41. Owen White added a 44 as Brett Smith shot ESM Orange’s low round of 49.Up against Cortland on Friday, ESM Blue took its first defeat of the season to the Purple Tigers, 220-231, as Sitnik shot a 44, just ahead of the 45s from Pacheco and Griffith.
