Dr. Box warned, however, that the state still hasn’t seen the impacts of potential infections from people who chose to travel for Thanksgiving, despite advice from the CDC.She also said Indiana is changing the state’s contact tracing system due to the amount of cases being processed, and hopes to bring a new testing lab online soon. Boys tennis Lakers defeat LaFayette, Phoenix

first_imgIn singles, Monroe lost, 6-4, 6-3, to Adam Brown, with Cherciu falling to Spencer Rusnyiak 6-2, 6-4. That left it to first singles, where Kalteski pushed Homer’s Ben Herman to a third set, but could not quite finish it, Herman prevailing 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.Homer followed that effort by knocking off unbeaten CBA 3-2 on Thursday as, that same day, Cazenovia promptly returned to the win column, blanking Phoenix 5-0.Flannery took a turn in singles as he did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Logan Chapman. Kalteski and Cherciu also got shutouts over, respectively, Ryan Lange and Evan Baldini. It was not as lopsided in doubles, but Gavilondo still paired with Andrew Peterson to beat Garrett Strang and Josh VanGorder 6-4, 6-4, with Torin Monahan and Jake Wardel beating Scott Barrington and Alex Olschewske 6-3, 6-4.Chittenango closed out its April slate by taking on Skaneateles last Monday afternoon, only nabbing one point in singles during a 4-1 defeat to those other Lakers.Evan Edwards withstood a second-half shutout to get past Duncan Raddant 6-2, 0-6, 7-2 and get the Bears on the board. Skaneateles won every other match in straight sets, with Devon Hardy and Brian Schermerhorn in doubles falling 6-1, 6-1 to Chris Burgher and Jack Panasci. Then the Bears started May with Thursday’s match with Marcellus, and claimed both doubles points, but were shut out in singles as it lost, 3-2, to the Mustangs.David Seale and Nate Smith paired in doubles to beat Jackson Spanfeler and David Stepkovich 6-0, 6-3. Hardy and Schermerhorn won, 6-2, 6-2, over Dan Fox and Tyler Szalach, while Anthony Roberts, in singles, pushed the Mustangs’ Tyler Guerrina to three sets, but lost, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.Share this:FacebookTwitterLinkedInRedditComment on this Story Even as April turned into May, the Cazenovia boys tennis team was trying to fit in matches in between spells of wet weather that threatened to interrupt the schedules again. The Lakers beat the rain last Monday afternoon, and did more than enough against LaFayette to pick up a 4-1 victory over the Lancers.Aiden Kalteski rolled through first singles, topping Dante Friedman 6-0, 6-1, while Traian Cherciu got a 6-4, 7-6 victory over Kaleigh Danaher as C.J. Monroe lost a 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 decision to LaFayette’s Hunter Martorella. Both of the doubles matches went in the Lakers’ favor, though. Teddy Coughlin and Liam Flannery got past Brandon Benjamin and Mason Shute 6-0, 6-2, with Dan Gavilondo and Teddy Williams handling Leanna Crouse and Adam McIntyre 6-0, 6-1.Two days later, Cazenovia faced Homer, and did fine in doubles, but could not gain a singles point in a 3-2 defeat to the Trojans.Coughlin and Flannery handled Raymond Meng and Connor Powers 6-2, 6-0, with Gavilondo and Williams just as dominant in taking out Tommy Britt and Ryan Cough 6-1, 6-1.center_img Tags: Boys tennisCazenoviaChittenangolast_img read more
